# Stuttering video playback on MacOS

Server Version#: 1.32.7.7621
Player Version#: MacOS on latest version.
Happens on all browsers. I tried Safari and Chrome. Both have the constant stuttering (video goes back like .25 of a sec and forth constantly). It is unplayable. Happens both with transcoding and without. It is not a dying GPU, as I have tested it extensively. It does not happen on any other video platforms. It does not happen on local playback of any other video types. It does not happen on other playback devices like my iPhone. It started happening after updating my Mac device to Sonoma.

I have had this issue as well. It turns out that the solution is to set the “Video Playback quality” in the “Player” section of “Plex for Mac” to “Normal Quality”. This fixed the stuttering for me. I have no idea why that is a setting.
