Tells me there is an update, but wont update

My server is on a windows PC and it continuously tells me there is an update but after I download and try and install nothing happens. Then tells me the same update is available. Rinse and repeat. This has happened numerous times before in the past 6 months.

Is that from the browser or desktop app? i would try

  1. Check for system updates, apply any, and once any are done, reboot the computer
  2. If there are still problems, go through the https://support.plex.tv/articles/202967086-windows-errors-trying-to-upgrade-install-or-uninstall-plex-media-server/ article.

Did #1 a few times now and still no dice. Continues to tell me to update but will never update.

#2 didnt help either unfortunately. Not really much information there at all.

im still having this issue. The update service is running, windows is up to date. Tells me there is an update, I click the update button then this screen stays here forever. Continuing to tell me theres an update up top.

Have you ever moved the Plex data folder away from its default location?
