Happy 2020. This is still an ongoing issue. Pulling metadata (of any type) from TVDB is still totally hit or miss. Some days it works. Some days it does not (for me, right this moment). -__-

The problem has seems to have started again today. At least, it took several “refresh metadata” operations to get artwork.

In talking with developers working on other software projects that also uses the “TVDB V3 API” it seems like the developers at TVDB keep making changes to the API for what ever reason, things that worked find yesterday don’t today. Not to say it’s broken just that it’s frustrating a lot of people.

Running version 1.18.6.2368 and TheTVDB is consistently, entirely broken for me. Searching for “Mythic Quest” returns no results. Searching for 362829 (Mythic Quest’s TVDB ID) returns a search result, lets me select it, and it works perfectly from then.

Had the same problem with Tommy and Indebted. Both new shows. Neither matched automatically. I’m running PMS 1.18.6.2368 on macOS. As soon as I selected Fix Match it came up with ONLY the correct match at 100%. In both cases. Makes me wonder if it’s because they are new shows and the information has…

Check the TVDB site directly… I have found a lot of changes they have made that are just wrong… episode dates have changed, shows that aired decades ago have current dates. in some cases they have combined seasons into one throwing off the season folders. and i could go on…

Thank God! I thought it was just me! I’ve noticed a bunch of shows whose initial year has changed! I haven’t figured out how or why that is happening but it’s odd.
