# This server is unclaimed and not secure

Server Version#: 1.23.6.4881

I was having issues claiming my server, as many have in the past. I noticed this error in the logs: “SSL certificate problem: certificate is not yet valid”. I also noticed that the server had the wrong date. At some point my NTP setup got messed up and the date was not being updated. I restarted ntpdate and claiming the server worked. Hopefully this helps some others out.
