# Toggle to disable or blur chapter thumbnailsd

I’d love a toggle to hide or blur chapter thumbnails since they oftentimes spoil future scenes when I just want to skip a recap.

Why not disable the thumbnails? Lots of resources and space being used to generate just to blur them.

Is that possible? I did not find an option for that that works.

I think we’re talking about two different concepts.

1. There’s **preview thumbs** — those are frames of the video used for showing your watch progress on the dashboard or while showing the timeline during fast-forwarding / rewinding.  
Those can account for significant storage consumption in your server data directory and can be enabled/disabled per library

2. There’s **chapter thumbs** — those represent a single frame per chapter and are displayed in the chapter selection.

I suppose you want to blur (2), while Deihmos is talking about (1).
