Hi
can anyone tell me how i can tell if Plex is using the 240gb SSD i put in for transcoding duty?
Most of the Transcoding is on the GPU and the feedback is it pauses once per film, so i was wondering if the SSD is even being used at all. Write life i dont care about write life really as its only while lock down is going on Family are using my server.
I increased the transcode throttle to 500 seconds but i have no idea if this transcode drive is even doing anything in my system.
i7 3770 4c 8t
16gb ram
ssd boot
ssd transcode
nas drives for storage
1050ti gpu
Ubuntu 18.04 lts

1. I need to see the log files, captured immediately after a transcoding attempt
2. DEBUG logging ON, VERBOSE logging OFF

Here is the log - i wont add tips again i did think adding a transcode driver would be under tips as its an extra to the system.
If the SSD is not doing anything i can just pop it in a different server before i add my music collection to plex its been a journey using linux

You have permission errors.
The transcoder temp directory doesn’t allow user `plex` to write to it.

Thank you for this help.
i changed the /home/handofgod/transcoder folder to
sudo chown -R plex:plex /home/handofgod/transcoder
sudo chmod 755 -R /home/handofgod/transcoder
- Changed the \_R to -R just incase this works. No idea if it’s working still as the log files are crazy in volume and no idea which one to look at.

hopefully it works
just waiting for the Tv Tuner to arrive as this plex stuff isnt just buy a plex pass and its all unlocked but nothing worth having is easy
if its not actually doing anything i will prob pop the ssd in the nas server as a cashe drive
