Hello,

I was just digging out through the forum, and found this
[https://forums.plex.tv/t/how-does-plex-handle-transcoding-when-there-are-multiple-versions-of-a-library-item-available/466240](https://forums.plex.tv/t/how-does-plex-handle-transcoding-when-there-are-multiple-versions-of-a-library-item-available/466240)

It seems plex should take the closest resolution version available from a movie, and transcode from it, if a lower resolution is selected. However it seems not to be working. It seems always to be transcoding from 4k resolution. Any fix for this? @ChuckPa

Kind regards
