# Transfer playlists from one server to another?

I have not been able to find a solid enough answer to this yet.
I am going to be building a PMS on Ubuntu 22.04 for my brother. He is currently running PMS inside of a jail on TrueNAS Core(FreeBSD) and has several PlexAMP play lists he wants to move to the new Linux server. The TreuNAS box will still be operating as a NAS. The new Linux server’s storage will be mounting the shares from the TrueNAS box. So here are the questions;
1. How to copy the playlists from one server instance to the other?
2. Where are the playlists located?
3. Are the playlists created on the TrueNAS core FreeBSD server compatible w/ a Linux server?
4. Are there any other concerns I am missing??

If the media paths are EXACTLY the same then you can make a tar.gz of `Plex Media Server` and all its internal data (including databases) to the new machine without fear
( You will need to change ownership of all those files to match that of the new installation )

If you are going to do that, you better ensure that the files `Preferences.xml`, as well as `/Cache/cert-v2.p12` are NOT included.
Because otherwise the two servers will look like clones to plex.tv, which might lead to them both become unclaimed.

The storage will be coming from the TrueNAS pool so the file paths will be identical. Instead of making a tar.gz can the PlexMediaServer directory just be directly copied via a program like WinSCP??
