# Transferring server, no on deck, no media path memory

I just built a new computer that I would like to transfer my Plex server to (windows to windows); however, after transferring necessary files and starting Plex, I have to manually add/link my media folders. The previously watched, and on-deck media does not appear.
I am using drivepool for all my drives, and the pool is set up and running on the new system with the same drive letter as the old system (S:). I have copied the registry info and everything in the local app data files following directions on the support page over to the new computer.
What am I missing? Really I just want to restore my on deck stuff so I can pick back up where I left off in movies and shows.

The Plex Media Server data folder that has all the DBs should be all that is needed . Assuming all paths to media folders are the same as they were before.
When you edit the library are the folders not listed or incorrect?

They should be the exact same, fresh install of Windows 10, data can be found at
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server
Here are the steps I am taking but still no luck.
-Stop plex server on source computer, stop plex update service.
-Copy PMS Data folder to archive with 7z since I have a large library.
-Export registry files to USB
-Copy PMS data to USB
-Install Plex on destination computer, when setup wizard comes up I exit PMS server and stop update service
-Copy source PMS data from USB to destination PMS folder
-Import PMS registry keys
-Restart computer
When I restart the computer and open plex, my old server shows up on the left side, but Movies and TV Shows are not linked, so I have to go and add the file path, which starts the massive import, but no watched data is passed along.

Don’t do that. It will destroy all hard links in the [plex data folder](https://support.plex.tv/articles/202915258-where-is-the-plex-media-server-data-directory-located/).

You can’t use Drivepool for the drive where the [Plex data folder](https://support.plex.tv/articles/202915258-where-is-the-plex-media-server-data-directory-located/) is located. (default Plexdata location is in C:\Users, but this can be changed.)
Drivepool doesn’t support symlinks/hard links which are absolutely required for the [plex data folder](https://support.plex.tv/articles/202915258-where-is-the-plex-media-server-data-directory-located/).
Another thing:
If you copied the plex data while either the source or the target server were still running, you most likely ended up with a damaged or incomplete copy of the data.

Thanks, will try again straight up copy/paste.
I’m only using Drivepool to store all the media (S:); the [plex data folder](https://support.plex.tv/articles/202915258-where-is-the-plex-media-server-data-directory-located/) is on (C:); that shouldn’t make a difference, correct?

If c: is not part of your drive pool, it should be fine.

Coming back to update that I had forgotten to disable a program that restarted plex when it crashed; the server was running when I transferred the files. Did a copy/paste on a larger drive and made sure the server was stopped, and all is now well! Thanks, guys!
