I have a linux seedbox that also runs plex on it. Everything was working fine until recently, but now all of my TV shows match as a TV show called “data,” which is the parent folder for the library’s name. If I update the library, it will match 10 or so TV shows, but after a minute, it will rematch everything as “data” again. My seedbox uses a specific version of plex, which is 1.12.1.4885. I have tried updating manually the latest version, but it did not change anything. I have since done a full reinstall with version 1.12.1.4885. I have googled the issue a bit but have had no luck finding anything relevant. Any help is appreciated.
please show what you mean? It sounds like the library type got changed?
Also, for them all to match as one name implies a naming problem.
Can you show me some of the names and structure exactly as you have them?
I have my whole library in one folder called “data.” All of my TV shows, movies, music, etc. It’s where my seedbox puts them. I have 3 libraries. One each for TV, Movies, and Music. They all point to the same folder. It has mostly worked for quite a while, but a few days ago it just ■■■■ the bed.
If the top directory is called “data”, what “Folder” did you tell PMS to use as the top?
Did you tell it to use /mnt/data or /mnt (as example) ?
If you’re one level too high, it will take that top-most as the series name
So, I figured it out. Somehow I created a symlink to the data folder, inside the data folder… Sorry for wasting your time, but your last comment is what made me SSH in and look at every folder inside… So thanks!
You’re very welcome.
I was looking at it and went “HUH?” then I knew it was going to be something trivial. Hence the dumb question
