I recently changed my password and am now unable to access my plex media server. I followed the tutorial here to get it back:

> **[Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in? | Plex Support](https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/)**

However, once I restarted my server, it would bring up the option to “claim my server”. when I would press the button, nothing would happen. On the remote access tab, it does ask me to log into my account (Even though I am already logged in).

Let me know if you have any suggestions. I have played around with signing out and back in, and just removing Preferences.xml but had no luck with either.

Plex Server Version: 1.19.5.3006

Are you attempting to claim using app.plex.tv or the local IP address / loopback adapter?

On my local ip. [http://server-ip:32400](http://server-ip:32400). When I use app.plex.tv it just says it cannot connect to my server.

Thanks!

Make sure that when you are locally connected ( not plex.tv), you are signed out of your account and youve deleted the server from the authorized devices. Then close it and reopen. Authenicate, reclaim.

ok… let’s take this step

1. Go to app.plex.tv
2. Settings - Authorized Devices (left corner)
3. Look for the existing server – REMOVE it (not a fatal thing to do)
4. Sign out of your account.
5. restart the browser
6. Restart PMS
7. Wait 1 minute

If it’s your system itself (workstation == server) : open [http://127.0.0.1:32400/web](http://127.0.0.1:32400/web)
if it’s the same 192.168.x.x/10.x.x.x/172.16.x.x-172.31.x.x LAN then open it by IP.

If not or remote, SSH tunnel will be needed

</div>

So I followed these steps and now am not able to see the claim server option. I am just trying to fresh install. It seems like even that is having issues.

</div>

To give more context. I followed the uninstall guide for Ubuntu, then reinstalled it. However, it seems to still sends me to my home page when I goto 192.168.x.x/[http://127.0.0.1:32400/web](http://127.0.0.1:32400/web), with no option to create a new server.

</div>

Update two:

So I was able to recreate my server after a fresh install. However, it still is giving this issue where it looks as if I am logged out in the server specific pages and it wont let me claim my server.

</div>

After attaching a monitor to my server I was able to figure it out. I recently removed a docker container of pi hole off of my server. it seems that was preventing it from sending the request to reclaim my server.

Thanks for all the help!
