# Unable to claim server

Player Version#: 1.20.3.3437-f1f08d65b ( web? )

I installed the latest version of Plex Media Server, and I’m unable to claim the server. I also can’t play any media; looks like it’s unable to download any codecs. I think both issues are related.

Also, despite having installed the latest version from [https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/](https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/) , the web UI still shows “an update is available”:

I’m guessing all of this is related to the `Error issuing curl_easy_perform` and `Error parsing XML: Error parsing file.` errors that are showing up in the logs?
