Hi everyone,

Getting real tired of Plex lately… I recently had to reinstall it on my server, a small DS218play NAS which always worked fine for my use. Issue is it won’t let me reclaim it for some reason.

When I install, I choose “Use the claim token” option and enter the token from [account.plex.tv/fr/claim](http://account.plex.tv/fr/claim). But every time, it hits me with an error message saying this: “ERROR: unable to claim, can’t dialog with [Plex.tv](http://Plex.tv)”

It says “installation time was too long or communication issues with [Plex.tv](http://plex.tv/) occured” (screenshot below in French).

I never had this error occured before. I don’t have a VPN active, Adblock is disabled, Quickconnect too, I don’t see why or how this could happen.

Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Could be a problem with the DNS failing to resolve the plex domain. [Server logs](https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/) might contain a pointer towards the issue.

Have you tested if using [Google DNS](https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns) (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) or CloudFlare DNS (1.1.1.1) instead?

Well, that did the trick. Thanks a lot! That’s weird since it worked really well for 2 years now but indeed using [Google DNS](https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns) made it work.
