You did perform the Manual Install option in app center with my package when you got the error then later took that same qpkg and installed via the command line?

I am based in the UK so EU.
My system was purchased January 2016 and is Model TVS-EC1080. Firmware 4.3.4.0644 build 20180710, CPU Intel Xeon E3-1246 v3 @ 3.5GHz and with 8GB memory.
I downloaded the latest version linked from the Plex Web GUI.
I Initially tried to install via the App Centre and got the original error with nothing showing in the logs. Then I posted the issue to the forum, and thanks to your assistance got the latest version ( 1.13.5.5291) installed by running the command line scripts after SSH’ing into the device and running the commands in your previous post(s).
Every previous installation / update I have done to Plex Server has been performed via the App Centre in the QNAP GUI. I don’t install every update (even though I usually download and store them).
Not sure that it is related, but I had to reboot my QNAP yesterday for the first time in over a year as Plex had become unreachable. Back to normal after the reboot.

Is there any update on the manual app installer so that you don’t have to use command line?
How do I get the plex icon to show up on the Qnap Desktop?
Will I be able to do Plex Server update through the Plex web interface going forward?

It’s a bullshit answer but I would suggest raising a ticket yourself but emphasise nothing has changed since the previous updates. The more of us raise the issue the more likely there may be an answer forthcoming.
They never even acknowledged that something must have changed for it to stop working.

I am afraid we don’t support upgrade Plex with qpkg, because the official version of plex with your model is 1.13.0.023 now.
If you upgrade it manually, we can’t promise its stability and provide debug for you.

I just tried to install PlexMediaServer_1.13.6.5339-115f087d6_x86_64.qpkg on 4.3.4.0644 (2018/07/10) and got the previous result using App Centre.
Will now upgrade the OS on the NAS and try again and report back.

Just updated my NAS to 4.3.4.0675 (2018/08/10) and still no joy with trying to update using the manual approach with App Centre.
Same error and nothing in the logs.
Nothing for me in the latest server version making it worthwhile for me to bother going down the CLI route to do the update.

If you use TRUEHD codec, or are experiencing problems, wait for 1.13.7. 1.13.7 has the TrueHD codec fix.
1.13.6 addressed other issues (mostly the security one)
ok Gbooker/ChuckPA … Did I miss something I can install it but it stops recording but it says its installed, what I have to do to get it working again is to go back to version 1.13.4.5271… the Public version…I have tried both beta and Public ending in1.13.5.5291, 1.13.5.5332, 1.13.6.5339 << None of these work when manually install… Did I miss something other than Resubmitting the Qnap ticket yet, I want to be sure before I send off a ticket BC after the last time they gave me some shit i want to make sure im not missing anything first. … AS I was typing this I pulled up QNAP and they are about to drop an Update to QTS… They are showing QTS 4.3.5 in Beta Available,so Now I am wondering if maybe they have sent out a fix to this issue, along with the 1.13.7.1.13.7 you talked about or should i just send in Trouble ticket anyway… Ill wait to see if or what yall think before i send TRB TIC. Do not use QTS 4.3.5 beta. It will skew everything. 4.3.5 is beta and has known issues. It is unknown what impact it may have on this situation. This issue is 4.3.4 specific at this point.

There appears to be a “level of discretion” on the part of the person handling the ticket.
As I understand it from QNAP:
- The version they are commited to supporting is the one in App Center.
- Some ticket support staff are sticklers on this. Others are not.
- If you attempt to install a version of PMS other than what is in App Center, the ticket staff member can push back.
These are what I will ask QNAP about further, citing the ticket numbers you all share with me.

thx Young man my Son is recording a Old School Runescape Video & 2 College Football games now on the OLD 71 version …so after midnight ill tear into it the NAS and hope i get to the promise land and try this before i do the full tear dwon, I have tried toe full reboot and reset before when I went from a Ver before 51 (sorry cant find the #) to 71 BC i saw the issues back then but it seem to fix self after 71 and reboot of all routers, NAS and PMS software, Thank you again Chuck!! Please clarify ‘51’ and ‘71’ ? I’m not understanding the reference.
Also, if you think I’m young, I’ll let you in on a secret. I watched the Apollo moon walk live on television and i was not a toddler either

Its all gopod I was saying i had the issue once before when Version 51 rolled out but it self corrected with a reset of my Server, Router, HD Homerun, Plex, and Nas…it was fine even when i installed 71 then for some reason it would no longer allow auto install i had to do them manually, Basically QNAP did not like the QPKG file format , We orginally thought it was BC Qnap had sent a QTS update around the same time from Ver 4.3.4.0644 to ver 4.3.4.0675 but later thought maybe it was plex but then i had Noticed that QNAP was No longer accepting the “ZIP” File format and it needed to be a “QPKG” format and ever since everything has had to be installed Manually its become a pain, that is why i am aiming at a complete flush and reset of everything plus because I am going to 12 WD TB Red Pro Nas drives from 6 WD TB Red Pro, but because you can not just clone and or move files directly with out loosing some space even with a Drive duplicators ( i lost 6% of use when i tried) so instead im doing a full wipe and reinstall. I will also be adding surveillance back onto this Nas with WD 1 Purple 12 TB for the Cams. So for all the head aces UNTIL I found yalls Post I was already in motion to shut down tonight and do a full wipe and reinstall but now I will hold off and try what you said but as I have done alot of it already I dont hold out much hope but ill give it 1 more try .

OH on the TV part for the Moon Landing , on a Color or Black and White? I ask because we had a 25 inch Zenith TV with a old T knob ( i was the remote as I was the youngest) But i remember asking my Dad something like why is it not in Color is the TV Broken… they laughed my old brother said som,e smart ass comment like im stupid or what not and my mom said not much color in a black and white picture. If i remember the 71 and up all landings all had color live feeds! wow still miss Walter Cronkite, man was Awesome and took NO shit as a reporter! Thanks again Chuck! Cow }:-o)
I think i understand the ‘51’ part but neither Plex nor QNAP have anything with a ‘51’ in it.
As for the format / reinstall, Do you have the NAS setup as a RAID volume?
If you do, you can upgrade each drive from 6TB -> 12 TB by simply replacing it and performing a Scrub operation. When all drives have been replaced, you then “expand” the volume. NO data is lost in the process whatsoever.
Black and white. In spite of all the videos which show today where he’s coming down the ladder correctly. It was upside down. The television network even apologized for it because it was a problem with the video converter at the time from the NASA feed. As I understand it, The camera was actually mounted upside down and the frame scan converter failed to mirror the image although i don’t now how that could be done on a live video feed with a vacuum tubes

A. Plex Vers 1.13.4.5251 was version before 71 i use now I installed it back in july 2018
B. NO Raid only 4 drives box right now its only 1 1 tb SSD for Cashe & 1 6 TB REd Pro 3 drive will be when I put both 1&3 up to 12 TB siize (not sure if i plan to raid them yet. not sure it Nas will work with only 2 drives in raid and the 1 drive for Cams & 4th as cashe ) #4 drive will be for the 8 CCTV Cams into the 12 TB Purple im upgrading from the 8TB in my NVR & this will be off a POE switch once i move it all here from my Barn.
C. the 6% i was talking about in drive loss is when you try to clone or Move the Data from a smaller drive into a bigger drive with a Hardware duplicator i have, i can do it with Acronis software but it takes to long. as for resizing in the NAS its easy about 8 mins as long as same size if bigger or smaller the nas throws error thats why i tried to use my clone drive hardware box , you can plug ssd, hdd, and it will move all or some or make copies , you can do alot once in the Box, iot just doesn’t not like when you try to stick smaller onto bigger, it does not like to resize it. its only issue i ever had with it.
D. The Moon TV Camera blueprints were released a while ago its so funny BC it showed it to have color but it was taken out for the weight savings back then. I heard that’s before about it upside down, but yeah tubes down work that way so unless they flipped the signal feed here on earth idk how that did that either, just another one of those , the older guys got sh_t done with slide rules and micrometers and were right like 99.9 % of times once bugs ironed out and today they get stuff wrong with Super computers…progress …lol

Do you use Safari as your browser?
If so, Try another. We’ve definitely identified Safari and Synology are having an issue. This makes me wonder if there is a possible bug in Safari which isn’t uploading the file completely.

I think you have cracked it. I was using Safari but just managed to instal Version 1.13.6.5339 using Chrome.
It is certainly a weird one though.
