Unable to Open TV Shows / Movies - Accessing Trailers

Hi all,

I've been on CyberGhost84's git for a while now but recently having issues accessing the 'All' section of Movies and TV Shows. 'On Deck' and 'Unwatched' seem to work for TV Shows where only 'On Deck' works for Movies. Latest updates don't seem to resolve it. Information as shown below:

  • Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version (found under the ATV settings > general > about > Apple TV software): ATV3 - 7.2  (7512)

  • The DNS server set on the ATV (found under the ATV settings > general > network > DNS): 192.168.1.1 (DNS qMap through Router)

  • The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on: 192.168.1.108

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on: Windows 8.1 Pro

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: Windows 8.1 Pro

  • The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (do not put 'latest'): 0.9.12.3

  • The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: 192.168.1.202

  • The PlexConnect version number. If using Github source then a time and date of download (look at the creation date of the folder) and if you are using any non-standard setup e.g. Plexify or a fork: CyberGhost84 - commit 56daaaaf0c37a99b35ea5e7413ddeddd745e6473 (latest as of today - just updated)

  • The contents of your 'Settings.cfg' file (this is created at first clean shutdown of PlexConnect, using CTR+c):

  • [PlexConnect]
    enable_plexgdm = False
    ip_pms = 192.168.1.202
    port_pms = 32400
    enable_dnsserver = True
    port_dnsserver = 53
    ip_dnsmaster = 8.8.8.8
    prevent_atv_update = True
    enable_plexconnect_autodetect = True
    ip_plexconnect = 0.0.0.0
    hosttointercept = trailers.apple.com
    port_webserver = 80
    enable_webserver_ssl = True
    port_ssl = 443
    certfile = ./assets/certificates/trailers.pem
    allow_gzip_atv = False
    allow_gzip_pmslocal = False
    allow_gzip_pmsremote = True
    loglevel = None
    logpath = .

  • Detail on the media file if it is an issue related to playing a media file (in order to get the necessary information on a particular media file go into the Plex web interface, select the video file, when it brings up the page for the media file click on the "i" information button on the left hand side, it will then bring up a "media info" box, click on the "View XML" button, it will then open a browser window with the relevant information, copy this to http://www.pastebin.com and use the pastebin link to post the details; posting the information directly in the forum may mess up the formatting and generally takes up a lot of space): None - main Movie / TV Shows screen

  • detailed description of the issue (the clearer you can make this the better): When going specifically to the "Movies" or "TV Shows" section, it sits at 'Accessing Trailers' definitely. The log file shows that it completes its XML very quickly but then sits there with no errors until I finally exit out. "On Deck" and "Unwatched" seem to work fine however. I access most content through the main initial screen On Deck which combines Movies and TV Shows.

  • Ensure you post your 'PlexConnect.log' file to pastebin and post the link ('PlexConnect.log' is located in your PlexConnect folder). If possible, follow these steps to create a "more detailed fresh" one: http://pastebin.com/S925UczR(Had to cut off as I reached the 512k limit - these are the last lines in there)

Did u install it over OpenPlex with backed up files?

Hi there,

No, I believe OpenPlex is all OSX Based, yes? I'm on Windows and started from scratch a few months ago when I reinstall Windows 8.1. I'm not sure when it stopped working as I dont access TV Shows and Movies that often.

Hmm, stop plexconnect and delete atvsettings.cfg and restart plexconnect and try again

Looks like that did it! Great to have it working again and take advantage of the new layout (or maybe just default with fanart). :)
