# Unlocking or Activating Plex for Android

Hi,  
Hoping someone can help.  
I have the Plex Server and Apps running perfectly on my Windows laptop.  
I just downloaded the Plex App on my Android tablet and logged in with my credentials. My music and video library all appeared.

However, it keeps asking me to Activate Plex. It will only play 1 minute of a song. I thought as long as I was on the same network as my Plex Server, it would work. Can you please confirm?

Secondly, the Plex Support article states:  
" Users who don’t have a [Plex Pass] and aren’t interested in starting one—can unlock Plex for Android through a simple one-time purchase."

When I select Activate Plex on my Android tablet, the screen that appears with two options (Plex Pass and one time purchase) flashes up for about 1 second and then gets replaced by a screen that only gives the option for the Plex Pass purchase. Can I still buy the one time purchase? If so, how?

no, you have to pay to unlock the app on each platform you use (unless you have plex pass).

yes, you can pay the 1 time fee to unlock the app for android, it’s linked to your google play account.

I am having the same issue with the in app activation link only flashing on tbt screen for a moment. I want the $4.99 activation unlock option. Not the subscription Plex Plus
