I have to migrate my Plex from a Linux server to another one.
Can someone give me an up-to-date how to migrate Plex server installation.

My goal is to **keep all PLEX metadata and database, including all the custom Images that I manually uploaded to the Plex server, including all the manual matching/name creations I did on the server.**

This is so that the new server will be up and running **without** going through the process of initial scanning, analyzing, deep analysis and and matching. **Especially stuff that do not match and that I had to manually created name and uploaded images.**

Does the link you gave me allow me to keep all the metadata that I manually filled in Plex?
For example, I have many entries that I wrote the title, description and manually uploaded the Poster and Background images.

Do I have to try to make the new mount the same ?

For example currently my media is mounted as /Plex/media/TV and /Plex/media/Movie.

In the new server, do I have to keep the path the same?

Thank you.

The tarball of **./Library** contains the complete PMS installation database. Everything is there. All your metadata, databases, and all other identifiers.

It is a full clone, in a single file, of your system. (image backup)

Do I have to use the same Plex account in the new Linux PMS server?

Do I have to keep file path to my mounted movie folder the same?

The clone, because it copies **Preferences.xml** is a mirror copy of the system it’s being taken from.

Should you wish to change account or other information (including the server name), delete **Preferences.xml** and “Claim It” again after start. Remember, you are cloning all the server-unique ID information. [Plex.tv](http://Plex.tv) won’t know it’s a different system if both have the same ID numbers. Your Plex/Web client will become confused.
