Sorry, for what is probably a very basic questions. The “Activity” button is telling me to “Update Libraries”. What is this? What happens? Why should I do it? Thanks, John ---

Your server is offering this option to upgrade your libraries to the current generation of Plex agents (e.g. `Plex Movie`, `Plex TV Series`, `Plex Music`). If you’re still having libraries using older agents, you’ll get this option. If you update your libraries, Plex will switch the library to the new agent and map your current matching to the new mode. You can opt to let Plex also refresh the metadata or do that at a later point (certainly recommended to do it at some point to get the full benefit of the new agents). # IIRC, legacy agents are no longer updated. So at some point there might be incompatibilities for those. ---

Thanks Tom. But your response begs another stupid question. What are agents? I’m assuming it’s not like Burt Lancaster in “Sweet Smell of Success”. ---
