I am runnung a Plex Server 1.16.6.1592-b9d49bdb7 on a win 2008 server with a big database of 300 GB on a different disk.
I updated to 1.17.0.1709-982421575 and then the following happens:
After installation the system announces : Updating Database. Then after a certain time it seemes that Plex has finished , but I had to restart Plex. After restarting the Database was not recognized and the Plex media server consumes all of my cpu capacity.
Downgrading of Plex is not possible so Ihad to reinstalle my OS and fortunately the database couls still be used.
Now a used a second Plex Server on WIN 16 server The database was different on a different disk , but at the same size. I did the same procedure and the same happened. Plex did not work and consumed all cpu.
I did the same with newer Plex versions, but no success.
So what to do ?
I have to correct myself. It was an update from 1.17.017 to 1.18.0.19.
After reinstalling the OS with Plex 1.17.017 the corrupted database was updated and could be used again.
