On DSM 7,

The username , which is a System Internal User (not a Local User), is PlexMediaServer

The errors writing in `/volume1/Media` require editing the Shared Folder permissions for Media.

In this case,

Use this FAQ to CREATE a permission rule for PlexMediaServer to Read/Write just as was previously done for “Plex” on DSM 6

This FAQ shows “Plex” (DSM 6). On DSM 7, we now use “PlexMediaServer”.

You will see “PlexMediaServer” in the dropdown list of available names.

> FAQ 19: Setting permissions to allow Plex access to media files Before beginning, it’s important to remember one key point; Plex doesn’t have any special privileges on Synology except for being able to access the Video Transcoding acceleration hardware. It cannot read any of your files unless you expressly grant permission. This is a fundamental principle of Linux (which Synology uses for DSM) Because of how Synology grants permission, access to files is broken into two different …

To avoid confusion in the future , it is completely safe (and recommended) to delete user “Plex” in Control Panel - Users.

I believe I resolved the issue. I moved the transcode folder and files that didn’t play before are. If the problem persists, I would assume there’s a problem with my transcode engine and upload logs. Thank you.
