Upgrade to Plex Pass Pro?

Hi,

First, good on the company for adding some form of tech support. I was wondering when they would implement that.

I realize at the time of this post the Plex Pass Pro program is still in its early stages, but I’m not sure what they mean when they say “Hands-on support from an expert installer” is a perk of the Plex Pass Pro. Does that mean computer support? What does it mean?

Now, I upgraded to a Plex Pass a few months ago (lifetime). Recently, I saw an article on Plex Pass Pro and the reason I think I might want it as of now is the technical support. If I understand this correctly, the user with the Plex Pass Pro will have hands-on support, presumably with someone who is an expert on Plex. I was hoping to see if I can upgrade for that reason. However, I don’t see an upgrade button and I can’t justify spending a total of $450 on Plex when the extra $300 is only for tech support. The Lifetime Plex Pass is useless to me if I already have it and installation is not applicable to my situation because I have it set up already.

I was wondering if either there was an upgrade option I am missing or if I am eligible, as a Plex Pass subscriber, for tech support already, or if it will be added to my existing subscription or something?

The Plex Pass Pro-program isn’t, afaik, intended for end-users like you and me - it is a program for home entertainment professionals (companies). They (the companies) now have a way of distributing Plex to their customers. So you will not be able to signup for this, I’m afraid.

The Plex Pro Installer program includes the newly created Plex Pass Pro. Plex Pass Pro is a lifetime Plex Pass license that includes installation and support offered by you, our installer partner.

Authorized Plex Installers will be supported by a dedicated Plex team in the Plex Pro Installer forums.

Thank you, Peter, for your quick reply.

So there is no tech support in the form I was thinking of, such as phone support or irc chat that end-users are missing out on?

No, there is not.
