# Using TheTVDB(DVD) Episode Ordering Does NOT Retrieve Metadata

Server Version#: 1.32.7.7621  
Player Version#: 5.72.3 (Plex for Samsung)

If I change the episode ordering to use TheTVDB (DVD) I lose all the metadata like Episode name, date aired, etc. If I use TheTVDB (Aired) then I get the metadata just fine.

Sure, I should have included one in the OP. Gilligan’s Island is the one in this particular case.

You asking the question made me think of something that I hadn’t considered earlier; does TheTVDB have the DVD order list for this series? I just checked and it does NOT which now makes sense as to why no metadata was available.

I know they have a DVD order list for The Dick Van Dyke Show and I confirmed that PLEX is using the list if it’s provided.

I should have checked TheTVDB but I assumed they had all that content set up for DVD as well as aired. My mistake. Maybe this will help someone else who may run into this.
