WD My cloud home - Plex service not starting



Bought WD my cloud home duo. After a successful initial setup and configuration of the device and services (including plex), it stopped working. Everything works fine except plex.
WD support was of no help.
Tried to disable and reenable the service, but to no avail.

After some browsing and searching I found an article which explained hot to retrieve logs from the device.
Below is the latest log from the plex service, hoping it can help with finding a solution.

Are you able to get to the config files through an ssh connection and edit the Plex Media Server Preferences.xml file?

Would like to enable debug logging which appears to be off
The path I think is /mnt/HD/HD_a2/plex_conf/Plex Media Server/

For MyPassport Wireless Pro it is here
/shares/Storage/.wdcache/.plexmediaserver/Application Support/Plex Media Server/

I am not sure which path it is for the My Cloud Home

What is needed to flip the value from 0 to 1 for logDebug
and then restarting the server

and copying out all the log files and zipping them when the issue arises

I think you have more than one entry for the server


I can retrieve log files from the server with SSH, which I did.
But the plex server on the my cloud home device is embedded.
The only 2 things I am able to do are:
Start/stop the service and access it’s configuration through the WDigital interface.
After successfully starting the service, access it’s web interface.

Because the service wasn’t starting successfully, I was locked out.
But yesterday I had a power failiure at home.
After switching the power back on, on the device and the PC, I was able to start plex on the WD interface, and access it’s configuration.
It has two servers running, one online and the other oflline. Have no idea where the second on came from.
Following the suggestion, I removed the one offline and was able to reconfigure the other.
So, at this present moment, I have PLEX server back online again, and had it’s movies database rebuilt.
It is accessible from my home LAN, and through the internet, on my laptop browser and the android app.
I have absolutely no idea of what happened. What made the plex service stop working in the first place, and what made it back on again.
I’m blaming Android for the problem and the power failure for the solution.
And blaming WD for not helping, claiming its a 3rd party app and no technical support on the WD device itself.

Did you resolve the issue? What is the ssh path for checking logs? I’m having the same exact issue.
