# Web Shows: "Unexpected error loading dashboard"

Title says it all - this was working for awhile, but even after restarting the server, going to the Web Shows category only gives the message:
" There was an unexpected error loading the dashboard
Please visit our forums if you continue to experience problems"
Understandably it’s still in beta, but wondering if anyone has any ideas. Forum searches aren’t coming up with anything particularly helpful. TIA

Got the same issue here too…Though I am connected through remote desktop so that may be an issue.
How are u guys connected to the media server?

The best way i find is. I backup my DB folder using previous version on windows every 1 hour. then i just shutdown plex and restore the Two DB files to prior to corruption and start plex and all is good.
I mainly have to do this due to some weird bug between my Synology box the Samba sharing and who knows what. but if i shut down either the box or plex i have to make sure I Clear the SMB cache in the Synology file services before plex starts to scan the Files or it starts deleting the shows.

Same issue on a fresh install. I just installed plex on my home computer after a fresh windows 10 install, using the latest firefox browser. Wondering if that’s not my issue (on the media server, not remotely connecting)

Same here as well. Just fresh installed Plex on Fresh Windows and downloaded from Firefox.

I just had this issue after a fresh install of Windows 10. After reading this and not seeing an answer, I closed the Plex browser window. I then right clicked on the Plex icon and selected “Check for Updates”. When Plex relaunched in the browser, the error message was gone.

Yeah, I have nothing helpful to add. It did eventually just go away, but there was no update between it being broken and working and no events I could associate with the issue going away. Seems like whatever the cause it keeps happening and then going away :-/

I think it’s a web browser issue and not a Plex issue. I’m using Firefox. I got this error right after installing Plex Media Server on Windows 10.
What worked for me was clearing the web browser’s cache. Use this keyboard shortcuts when you are on the Plex Dashboard in your web browser: [SHIFT] + [CTRL] + [R]. This shortcut should work in Firefox and Chrome. For other browsers see their documentation on how to clear cache.
[CTRL] + [R] = Reload page
[SHIFT] + [CTRL] + [R] = Clear cache + Reload page

Had the same issue (I’m running Chrome), did [SHIFT] + [CTRL] + [R] and it worked.

I just moved a massive server from my i7 machine to my sparkly new i9-9900K unit following the excellent instructions on this site and everything went without a hitch until I opened up the Plex browser page. The OP’s tip did the trick lickety split! Thanks!
