Hi everyone,
Can any one explain the logic of PMS sorting by title?
I mean why ‘1+1’ is before ‘007’, ‘8 Mile’ before ‘11:14’, etc?

Second question is why Cyrillic letter ‘Ё’ is before ‘A’ while it should be after ‘E’ ?

Might be using the ASCII sort order - chart here: [ASCII Sort Order Chart](http://support.ecisolutions.com/doc-ddms/help/reportsmenu/ascii_sort_order_chart.htm)

EDIT: Actually… doesn’t exactly fit either but it’s close.

Cyrillic letter ‘Ё’ is a non-english character, and probably happens to come sooner in the sort list than any other english character.

1+1 comes before 007 I believe because Plex seems to look at the entirely of a number up to a character type change for the value, then sorts it that way. 007 is technically “7”, while 1+1 is “1”. 11:14 is probably seen as “11”.

Note, I am not defending these rules, it must just be how their programming was setup. For foreign characters, rather than send it off to some “language sorter” library, they probably built their own using one heck of a large CASE statement (probably not, now that I think about it, but whatever) in code. Any foreign language characters might come before any of the english characters, rather than try to fit them into the middle of another language’s character set.
