What caused the outage on April 16th?

If it was posted somewhere I searched and couldn’t find it but what exactly took down Plex yesterday evening?

A planned update went sideways?

Somebody kicked the network cable out of the WRT54g?

Database failure?

Here’s all that was communicated on Plex’s status page.

Yeah, I saw that but what exactly was the fix? (ie, we added more ram to a blade server)

What caused the problem to begin with? (a squirrel got into the data center and chewed on a cable that housed the API database)

Not directing that at you but it’s the same as your car not starting one day… you tow it to the mechanic and after a few hours they tell you to come and get it, it’s fixed. That’s cool and all but I’m curious what they fixed and what was broke.

Plex already communicated what they thought should cover it

My personal view: “If this was an attack, or a SW bug, do not tell, since that could lead to more down time”

As such, and agin IMHO, Plex communicated what was needed, and I doubt they will expand on it

And looks like the same problem is back again:
