I have been running Plex Server for many years on Windows 10, but due to some issues with the box not related to Plex I decided to move to an Ubuntu server. I found it strange (being a long time Unix admin) that the file and folder naming conventions stayed the same on Linux for recorded TV shows (with spaces, capitalization, etc). Leading me to the question - is Windows the main platform for the developers? ---

Looking at the underlying folder structure (e.g. `Library` \> `Application Support` \> `...`) that looks an awful lot like that of a Mac. Some information regarding the Plex development environment is in the below thread. FYI, do not use any of the Plex Media Server versions linked in the thread. FYI: the server devs are using a mix of macOS, Linux and Windows. Happy to answer any questions about the build/dev environment since that’s what I do around here and few people find it that interesting 🙂 ---

Thanks! I assume it is just my age and using version of Unix over the years that I always was taught to stay away from the long paths, spaces, etc - but modern OSes are fine with it, and it made my recorded shows from Windows Plex Server portable to the new Ubuntu one. ---
