# When does Plex update its metadata cache?

I’m not sure the exact time but I once had to wait almost 3 weeks for the change… And yes, I check/scanned every day… What you could do(and I didn’t) is to [Plex Dance](https://forums.plex.tv/t/the-plex-dance/197064) the media from your library… That may force a retrieval of all new metadata content.
