When you delete a movie or the entire series (not an episode) from plex, I would expect it to be removed from the “Watchlist”.
Right now, the items I delete remain on the watchlist.
Can we please link those up?
Note: If you’re concerned that some people may want to retain deleted items on their watchlist, can you provide a setting where we can decide for ourselves if we want the two linked up (honestly: Don’t think that’s needed, if I delete something, I want it gone, and not retained on my watchlist. But thats just my view)
PS: I feel this used to work in the past, not 100% though.
This is because the watchlist is not tied to a server, it’s tied to the Plex user account.
The server isn’t even aware what is watchlisted or not.
Thanks for the swift response. Understood.
I guess this makes sense when you have multiple users using the same server.
If you are “the one and only” user then the server owner and the user are the same person and that separation does not make that much sense.
Do you see a way where such linking could be done for the people who own the servers?
It’s not really about multiple users per server. it’s for supporting the same watchlist across different servers, along with all the Plex services like Discover, VOD and Rentals.
If the watchlist only existed on the server you would have a hard time trying to watchlist something that wasn’t released yet for instance.
Besides, there are other possible reasons why one would delete an item from a Plex server. It’s not always because one doesn’t want to look at it again.
