Where does Plex for Android store its synced media files by default

I don’t see why not. The connection may appear as a metered connection (i.e. cellular) so make sure you’ve allowed syncing over cellular and it should work.

The speed was too slow, even on a low quality setting. If there was a way to download subtitles without burning in, or just enable access to the video file, that would be great (only download location available is “internal”). I just assumed subtitles would download with the video, but I was mistaken

lol. So true. Besides, it is Android doing it not Plex. I am a lifer because Plex hands down is the best

Another option is to just copy your music to any folder you want and use Foobar (although i do like Plexamp)

Please add an option for exporting downloaded items to another folder. We should take full control of our own media files.

Spent 3 days trying to figure this one out, thanks to the posters above for explaining this.

I initially couldn’t figure out why Plex doesn’t work like 99% of other ‘syncing’ music apps do.

My guess is the app devs are just using a Google framework that expects everything to go where Google wants it to be (for spurious ‘security’ reasons) and either don’t have the option or the brains to simply put these files in user storage.

My guess is that with the inexorable monetization of Plex content, they’ve had to assure content providers that their data can’t bleed outside the Plex environment.

I like Plex and paid for the full pass as an early adopter, but still this sucks.

I wish I could access the files on my own device. I would think that I should be able to.

All mobile apps are a disaster.
When I go to my plex server via a Chrome session, I can see every folder I put on my server, as shared in the library of Plex.
When I go to those idiotic (sorry for the blunt reaction) apps for all mobile and handheld devices, I get so angry…
All I see is “recently played” or “Popular sh…” and everything I want NOT! I want my library!!!
So, I find the options, can’t find anything regarding what I WANT TO SEE!
Why do all these apps the same? Push (OOPS, POOP) in your face, while I just want to see my files like I see them on my browser (PC).

Now do not think that I did not try everything, If I open a chrome session on my mobile device, log in to my server, I can see all I need, but it is small, too small to actually work with, but, thanks for zoom function.

Now why can’t those dipshits make an app that does what WE WANT? (sorry again for rudeness, but in my anger I deleted the app already a few times from all devices because of the handicap it has!)

So, Now I wait for an answer that I actually can not find, thanks to the makers of Android apps. I just downloaded a few files to my phone (via syncing Plex), and again, those apps are wonderful, I know there are a few hundred MP3 files on there, I am sure, but I can not find them with Filemanager, even if I select both storages on my phone, It is not there…

Now, maybe those kids think to keep that hidden for some purpose, but it is like they are convinced that we are all complete retards and not know how to handle things…
So, anyone who can tell me where those file reside on my phone? or do I need to buy a new car with PLEX in it?

I can’t understand how this hasn’t been addressed at least.

Previous versions of plex for Android could see my files synchronized … Now it’s just a hidden folder using a certain invisible space, why is that? It is not a software for NASA, KGB or something secret government, They are simple files of music or home video that facilitated the access to other programs of the type PowerAmp to listen to my mp3’s. As a result, I stopped using plex synchronization and I am using the Resilio sync App … Now I will change the status from 5 star to half star … My account is for life but I confess that I was discouraged by this change without our consent.
