Hi,
Recently I have re-designed my network at home. This might be considered a more advanced setup.
All my NAS devices and other storage devices are on its own subnet with its own broadcast. They are logically separated but are within the same routing instance and can therefore still reach each others.
However that is not how plex likes it and therefore, after loggin in with your plex pass you are able to discover your devices (and for some stupid reason you need to login on a browser that sits on the same subnet, in my case my storage subnet where I do not want any clients at all…)
as a consequence plex belives that I’m not able to reach my NAS and instead thinks it should proxy the traffic WTF! - So local traffic needs to leave my house and then enter it again causing delays and lag. whats wrong here?
Why cant I manually pick a Plex server that I could do in previous builds?
