# Will Hard Accelerated Transcoding Increase the Web Player's Maximum Quality?

Player Version#: 4.100.1

I’ve been trouble shooting getting remote access to my server for a few days now and have had no success. I just want to see if I can get higher quality out of my remote server. It’s currently capped at 328p 0.7Mps when accessed remote through the [plex relay](https://support.plex.tv/articles/216766168-accessing-a-server-through-relay/). If I can’t get remote access established, I’m wondering if using hardware-accelerated transcoding might help me in receiving higher quality video through the [plex relay](https://support.plex.tv/articles/216766168-accessing-a-server-through-relay/).

In most cases transcoding is actually decreasing the quality.
The only way you’re going to get better quality is if you configure remote access so most things direct play
