Hello - I’ve been having some issues with crashes since moving my server from an Nvidia Shield to a Windows 11 PC. What I’ve noticed is if I launch Plex as a user, I don’t seem to see any crashes. However, when I launch via Task Scheduler (originally set up this way to automatically restart Plex during power outages, etc…), it consistently crashes. I can’t see anything in any of the Crash Report folders associated with this crash for the Server, Scanner, or Tuner Service. I’ve scanned through a few of the log files and don’t see anything obvious to me, here a snippet from the [Server log:](https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/)

Which Windows user account is being selected to run Plex in?

Anyway, you probably rather want to use [PMS as a service](https://forums.plex.tv/t/pms-as-a-service/53381/1)
as it’s much cleaner a solution.
Just make sure to tell the service to run under the same Windows user account that you are using normally.
And keep in mind: you cannot use drive letters connected to network file shares.

Hi, thanks for the info! I’m running it under my normal account with Task Scheduler.

I’ll take a look at getting it setup as a service.

My drives are currently connected via a DAS, so sounds like it’s OK, but good to know the limitation.

It might also be an issue if you have used special software to encrypt the [plex data folder](https://support.plex.tv/articles/202915258-where-is-the-plex-media-server-data-directory-located/). This software might not be running (correctly) if you run Plex via task scheduler and/or as service.
