# Windows to Ubuntu Help

Do you use [Sync Watch State and Ratings](https://support.plex.tv/articles/sync-watch-state-and-ratings) as that should work and is probably the easiest way to do it.

Couple of caveats …

1. this is a more advanced method as your doing direct database exports and imports.
2. I’d also recommend using the same settings for your libraries between source & target.
3. your naming of media should really match the plex recommended naming conventions as the watched & history data will need to align after you re-import your media. This alignment is done via plex guids and not folder paths so going from windows → linux is not relevant as long as the libraries structure and media itself is the same.
