I have a suggestion. Can plex Please add WOL packets to there app.

I know plex is considered a SERVER media however most of us run it off our computer that goes into sleep afte 30 or so minutes of inactivity. I could easily do this from an app but what my wife and kids 7,7,3 yrs old don’t know how to do all that

So Plex PLEASE GO GREEN and add this feature.

GO GREEN GO GREEN

“Most of us”

No. Don’t generalise everyones usage. I leave a server on 24/7 and have Plex running in a virtual machine.

I agree it should be implemented but most people will have their servers on for the most part, not off.

I agree servers are always on however you don’t need a Server to run plex all you really need is a laptop running it is basic computer

I think that would be so easy to do! It wold costs me more than 30 euros /month to have my xeon plex server always on 7/24. In the family I woldbe the only one that can WOL the server but I have to use an external simple app! No way!

This is the only reason I haven’t bought the plex pass yet. Even if you have you’r pc always up, I bet you’ll be wasting tons of energy! Money that would possibily be spent on a new HDD, for exemple!

They should integrate a simple button that anable you to program the WOL and to, maybe, schedule the up running time. Energy it’s not free.

I totally agree with jimf22: PLEX GO GREEN!
