Same issue here.
Works from “second” account, once linked to Plex, but still can’t open Plex from main account.
Setup:
2 users
Main user has Plex Pass
Kinect
Quick Launch
Auto sign-in of Main user.

Same issue. Went to load Plex one morning and it didn’t load. Is stuck at the loading screen with the circle spinning. I have a xbox one with kinect. Tried several different logins on the xbox with no success. Did a hard reboot as well. Tried resetting all the network settings. Still no success.
Users 4. All was able to access the plex app.
Instant sign in - off
Kinect - yes
Power mode - instant on
Same issue here in Germany.
Xbox one
everything was fine before i installed the latest update. Didn’t changed anything else in my setup.
Streaming from a Win7 PC using LAN.
First, i was able to use the updated xbox app. But it stopped in the middle of a movie and didn’t find my server anymore. After rebooting everyting, the xbox app is stucked at the loading screen (it don’t stops loading…).
Chromecast, Nexus 5 or iPad are all working well using WIFI. Nothing changed here.
The XBOX one is the only problem.
Would appreciate if you fix this soon…
thanks,
Michael
This was painful but here’s what worked for me:
Create new outlook.com account
Remove all the devices from the plex web portal
Uninstall Plex from Xbox One
Hard reboot Xbox One
Sign out default user
Sign in as new outlook.com account
Launch plex/pair
Sign out of new user and sign back into default user
Launch plex/pair
No doubt some of these steps may have been unnecessary. Good luck
Several folks have posted a request for a refund (or interim fix) and while Plex on Xbox One is currently working for me, I completely understand the complaints. The argument that we’re all paying to test is not acceptable. Yes, we’re paying for an unreleased version and it’s a nice benefit to be able to use it during development, but not being able to use it at all isn’t exactly what people expect when they pay for an app… regardless of whether or not it’s in development. I think we’re all ok with the standard bugs, but it should at least work to some degree. In this case it appears the new app was posted with absolutely no fall back plan. ALL new versions of any software require a fall back plan. At the very least, can the Plex devs please add a fall back plan to all future releases? While this bug doesn’t affect everyone, it still should’ve been rolled back shortly after release.
I do like the new features, and would miss the features if the app was rolled back. But, given how many people have been affected I’d be ok with dropping back to the previous version until the bug is fixed.
There does, however, appear to be one solid workaround which was posted very soon after the app was released, and that’s to login to plex.tv through the Xbox One browser. I don’t recall who posted the workaround, but appreciate whoever did. Not ideal, but should work for everyone. The other workaround would be to hook up a different Plex device until the bug is worked out. Since Plex is on practically every Internet connected device on the planet, I’d imagine most people can get a free version of Plex through another device even if it is just a laptop connected to a TV via HDMI.
Thank you moussa.uk and Dom C for keeping us up-to-date. I’m sure everyone at Plex is as frustrated as the user community, and it’s much appreciated that you’re always keeping us informed on progress and potential workarounds.
Same issue in NZ, 3 accounts on the xbox, only one running plex
No kinnect
fast boot mode
tried a hard reboot, no joy.
We are obviously really frustrated by this. We are working hard with MS to get this back and working as soon as we can. Unfortunately such things take time
Obviously if this affected beta testers, or us, or the MS guys as much as it has some of you then we wouldn’t have released 1.3. We did, however, so now are working on multiple approaches to remedy the situation. Hopefully we’ll have more of an idea later today.
Rolling back versions is not a simple one button solution - but it’s a good idea for us to look into some more for future releases. We’ll take a look at what we could do here and chat to MS if they have any infrastructure for this.

Can you try this?
Create new outlook.com account
Remove all the devices from the plex web portal
Uninstall Plex from Xbox One
Hard reboot Xbox One
Sign out default user
Sign in as new outlook.com account
Launch plex/pair
Sign out of new user and sign back into default user
Launch plex/pair
@“Dom C”, Is it possible with MS to have a “beta” release and a normal release version active?
If so you could then push things out first to the “beta”. If all goes well then a week or two later push the version to the “normal” or “plex pass” version.
This way in the future anyone can try the beta and if they hit any snags will still have the other tried and true version to fall back to.

This has been suggested multiple times to ppl over the last week. I would imaging for those of us still asking - like me - it doesn’t work, though I guess for a few peeps this is the first thread they’ve found. I made the mistake of taking out a lifetime membership a whole 7 weeks ago, and am seriously considering asking for my money back, as it was bought ONLY for use with xbox and server of my local PC.
@cayars - we have exactly that, but it has to be an internal/private beta for MS to allow us to bypass the cert process and with a limited (40 or so) maximum users. We may be able to open it up further in future, but I can’t promise anything.

Go for it. I tried many of the suggestions, but only until I went in this order was I able to resolve my issue.
I just want to add that I get this spinning circle during the plex splash screen and just fails to complete the load. It seems to me that (unless I am mistaken) this only started to happen around the beginning of the month, which could be inline with the security / certificate changes. TBH, no I haven’t tried creating another outlook.com account as I also have a office365 subscription and therefore don’t wish to go through this painful process yet again. I just hope this is fixed soon as this is a real PITA. If it helps, I’ll list the versions I am running.
Plex Media Server: 0.9.12.19
XboxOne: 1.2.1.0
Plex plays back fine on my Apple devices (tablets, phones etc). Hoping for a fix ASAP.
Thanks.

While it is a pain, it took me half a minute to setup a dummy outlook.com account. I’d give it a shot if you really want it fixed ASAP. Good luck

I meant with full certification. Still two different versions to float or choose from an end user standpoint. This way one could always be the old standby so to speak.
Not sure if this helps but this started happening right after I moved my plex server from Mac OS X to Linux. ( not sure if there was an update of the Xbox one client or plex server during my switch )
Having issues as well. Have been for a week now. Xbox support was useless, and finally decided to post in the forums. BTW why doesn’t an error message or something show up on the load screen @“Dom C” ? Perhaps just saying there is an issue and to go the the forums here for support.
Tried these steps and it didn’t work for me.

Were you able to sign out as the default user? That step was tricky because Kinect kept trying to sign me in. Maybe even try disconnecting Kinect before this step.
Good luck
Please fix this. Wow. At least let us know a fix is in the works.
