I added the movie file “The Jungle Book (2016).mkv” but Plex lists it as the original The Jungle Book animated feature from 1967… usually having the year in the file name insures the correct data is pulled but not for this one. Any idea how to fix this? ---

first, create a subfolder just for this movie. Name it exactly like the [recommended pattern](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200381023-Naming-Movie-files "recommended pattern") `Official Title of Movie (year)` Then put the movie video file in there and perform the [Plex Dance](https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/908454/#Comment_908454 "Plex Dance") The Plex Dance is also to be performed if you named the movie file correctly only **after** putting it into a Plex movie folder. next level is the [.nfo file trick](https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/969170/#Comment_969170 ".nfo file trick") for this particular movie, the IMDb ID would be `tt3040964` Last resort is [‘Fix Incorrect Match’](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201018497-Fix-Incorrect-Match-Match "'Fix Incorrect Match'") ---

Although the thread is already a bit older, I also have a metadata issue with this movie and some other Disney remakes with the same name (e.g. Pete’s Dragon). However, for me I have `The Jungle Book (2016)` (The Jungle Book (2016).mp4) in my database; correctly identified. And I also have `The Jungle Book (1967)` (The Jungle Book (1967).mp4) which always identifies as the 2016 version. I’ve already tried the above recommendations to correctly identify the 1967 version; the Plex Dance, the .nfo file trick and even ‘Fix Incorrect Match’. They all don’t work. Using the .nfo trick for a small moment it seems to identify the right version, but seconds later it converts it to 2016. The ‘Fix Incorrect Match’ is able to find the correct movie, but upon downloading the metadata it again downloads the 2016 version. In the Plex Media Server log a log entry is seen with the correct IMDb ID and year: `Nov 05, 2016 12:38:13.217 [0x369c9400] DEBUG - Request: [127.0.0.1:38647 (Loopback)] GET /system/agents/search?mediaType=1&id=14570&identifier=com.plexapp.agents.imdb&duration=-1&filename=%252Fvolume1%252FMovies%252FThe%2520Jungle%2520Book%2520(1967)%252FThe%2520Jungle%2520Book%2520(1967)%252Emp4&lang=nl&openSubtitlesHash=282921be82c2832c&plexHash=d89418a4358d60b6ac6cbdcd172249430c83803e&guid=tt0061852&name=The%20Jungle%20Book&year=1967 (13 live) GZIP Signed-in` Actually, I can’t even seem to find the IMDb ID from the 2016 version in my logs (other than at the imdb search where it scores lower than the correct IMDb ID). My current guess is that it has something to do with my preference for downloading Dutch metadata, that the Dutch information is missing and thereby unable to be downloaded. Then it automatically tries to fetch the English version, but the backup mechanism does so for the incorrect version? Are there any options I missed that I can use to get the correct metadata downloaded? I’m running PMS on a Synology NAS (DS215j) using the latest version (1.2.6). ---

You are using mp4 files. Those can have embedded metadata. The embedded ‘Title’ tag may contradict the file name. Either remove or correct the embedded Title. Alternate option: Under Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie and Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase Grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it sits below all other active agnts in the list. After doing either of the above options, perform the [Plex Dance](https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/908454/#Comment_908454 "Plex Dance") with the misidentified file. ---

You were completely right, in plex the embedded metadata didn’t show up but it was all there in Mediainfo. I’ve corrected the metadata but the alternate option you suggested works even better. Thank you so much! ---
