Version 1.41.3.9292
Running in docker, privileged
file/folder permissions are fine

I’ve seen this reported over and over again since 2016 (at least) and never a solution. Once again, I’m unable to manually edit the metadata settings. When I hit save it just barfs “Your changes could not be saved.” Please don’t suggest that I should be automatically setting the metadata. That doesn’t help with Collections or Labels or changing the posters. Nothing will save. It hasn’t always been this way so I suspect someone pushed some code that broke it. I don’t have much faith that anyone who can fix it will pay any attention here but figured I’d give it a shot.

Here’s the last report of this happening as far as I can tell:

For example, if I click the pencil icon, select “Labels”, and add a label, I receive the error: “Your changes could not be saved.” I’ve tried changing the agents without luck. Oddly, new media gets properly organized and tagged. It’s only when I attempt to change metadata manually. I tried in both my windows client and v…

Can you please grab the server’s DEBUG log files (ZIP) and attach it?

In most cases, the problem with being unable to save changes is a DNS blip.
In other , less common, cases, there is minor damage to the Databases or weird permission problems.

It’s been several days now, across several reboots of clients and several restarts of the Plex docker. Also, since Dec 8th, no new TV shows are showing up in the library. I have confirmed they are in the season folder just like normal so I suspect, like you suggested, a database or permission problem (all of the sudden). Also, all recent episodes won’t play with a playback error. Older episodes play. There are a lot of things having problems now.

I’m hesitant to leave logs up here. There seems to be a lot of information in them. Any other way of getting them to you?

Edit: I searched for one of the shows I’m having trouble with and see this error

OK I think I fixed the problem. I simply stopped the docker, restored a database backup file from just before the date of the last show added to my libraries, set the permissions and owners of the sqlite3 db file and restarted the docker. I tested setting some metadata and did a file scan for library updates and I’m seeing new episodes again. I think all is right with the world again, all thanks to ChuckPa 😉 Thanks for responding. You got me heading down the right path.

If you want to use memory, it’s `/dev/shm`.
You will also need to pass through the real `/dev/shm` into the container for this to work.

Don’t reference a subdirectory. PMS will create as needed.

When you reference it, it must already exist (which it won’t)
