Are you having Stuttering/Buffering Issues? Look Here

Currently struggling with the exact same issue, network, computer other devices etc. are fine.

External streams seem to fail about 15-20min in, no matter the selected quality on the Chromecast 1 & 2.

I’m currently trying to find something meaningful within the Log but also no clue where i’m looking for.

All other devices seem completely fine, i think its just something wrong with the current Plex server or chromecast release, because this was not the a few months back.

I host a server and several of my users have the same problem. Really annoying

The Chromecast 3.52.0 release addresses an issue experience by some users when streaming video with subtitles.

If you’ve modified your server’s Chromecast.xml to disable soft subtitles, you’ll need to revert that change to take advantage of this update.

After going through this list, the AES Encryption to my VPN was the problem, over LAN.

I couldn’t figure out why my 4K, direct, original quality – kept studdering/buffered and server debug logs were not informative.

The second issue I had was with playing 4K videos being buffered when with above settings. Video must be converted to optimal quality such that stream doesn’t need to transcode.

Thanks again for the great doc.

Download MKVToolNix. Multiplex the file into mkv container and problem should disappear

Can someone suggest what preset to use in Handbrake for a DVD? I have encoded quite a few as mkv with the standard MKV576 preset but still have some issues with some files. I am basically looking for the best possible quality but without the stuttering/buffering issues. I am using a Terramaster F4-210 NAS by the way if that helps.
