Automatic subtitle synchronisation

I want this soooo bad!

Why is this still haven’t been added, it’s a popular choice. Shame on you plex.

1+ for this. The manual syncing feature in Plex is dreadful.

Off-topic: It’s also disappointing we are locked to a single subtitle provider. Plex is great, but man in regards to the subtitle department it just really sucks.

Da doresc subtritari fara ele nu are rost sa ma uit la ceva

Looks like it’s being introduced in Bazarr soon.

the 0.9 bazarr update was released today, and the subtitle sync option is included for both TV Series and Movies. The UI has also been redone to match Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr etc.

Well, you can add me as another +1. I was gonna complain about this but decided to make sure somebody else hasn’t addressed it. This “auto-fix subtitles” would be great! Now I see the last comment was 11 months ago. Has anything been done with this? Or perhaps there’s a more recent thread and I’m bringing up a dead horse. If so, sorry about that, but I’d really like to have this implemented.

I’m currently using this tools which in most cases works extremely well: https://subsync.online/

Yes please!

A subtitle overhaul is way over due.

Windows, Mac, no Linux. Bah Humbug!

It’s up to you to contribute to this project and/or ask for a linux version as well

Huh? I’m under no obligation…

Of course, my bad. I forgot that asking for a linux version is already an obligation. If the creator does not know that anybody would like to use a linux version he will not put in the effort to create it

+1 - I’ve never downloaded 3rd party subtitles and had them align with my movie, making that feature totally useless.

Asking for a Linux version is not an obligation! I don’t know where you got that. It’s simply asking for a Linux version. If it was an obligation then the developer would be obliged to create one and we’d have one already and this wouldn’t be an issue.

However I never asked for a Linux version. I merely pointed out that there were Windows and Mac versions yet there was no Linux version so I’m not interested. Why you would constitute that to me saying that I demanded a Linux version be produced and pronto is beyond me.

And it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that some people run Linux. I mean Plex and their products offer solutions not only to Windows and Mac’s but to various Linux distros at well. Hell, my Plex server runs on Synology in a Docker container. IOW, IMHO to ignore Linux is short-sighted. You may have a different opinion and that’s fine. But I am entitled to my own opinion am I not?

Lol, thanks for making me laugh. I don’t understand why you argue with some random guy on the internet who was just trying to be helpful and instead could have already asked for a Linux version via Github.
Do you know how many linux package managers are out there? So how to decide which one support without knowing somebody would benefit from a specific linux version? I will leave it at that. You can make of it what you will.

It’s fun. It’s the right thing to do. Need I say more? BTW most people talk to and yes, argue with random people on the internet as most of us have never met face to face.

For the last time, I DID NOT ASK FOR A LINUX VERSION!!! Are you so dense that you cannot admit that you are wrong on that point? Is it pride or just a lack of reading comprehension skills? I think it’s both. Or perhaps you have fun making crap up with a random person on the internet… See it works both ways if we wish to play that game. I do not.

Yes, there are a lot of package managers but you know what? Many, many, many others manage to do this every day. If just deb and rpm are done you got most of the market. Or a tarball, unpack and it is installed approach could be done which pretty much covers everybody. Anything less is just an excuse for laziness.

So have another laugh on me but you know I’m right…
