OK so I'm soo close !
I have plexdownload installed and I can see the via the webui the tv shows and movies that should be syncing, but I'm not getting any shows/movies ACTUALLY syncing
My Setup I have a plex sever at my office and one at home, and I'm trying to sync content from my office to my home server
Question under the "General" part of the ini file should it contain the IP and port of the sever at my office? ( this is what I'm assuming)
When I launch the plexdl.py I get

i'm trying to sync some tv show.
I choose it from web gui, when the sync start, PlexDownloader syncs only the last serie for each tv show.

Got the software running and looks to work well. What would be the best way to go about adding an extra movie section (in my case Kid's Movies), I don't use Music or Pictures so I could cannibalise those.
Probably just run another copy of Plex Downloader on another port and set the movie section on there to your "Kid's Movies" section and disable all the other sections. Anything else would require changes to the code.

Plex Downloader provides an interface so that users can sync content (transcoded/non-transcoded) from their Plex Media Server to client computers/devices. There is currently no support other than this for desktop syncing that I know of. This all originated because I wanted a way to sync content to my MacBook and there was no other way to do this. I also saw there were requests on the forum for server to server sync functionality, and this can be accomplished through Plex Downloader by utilizing the full sync features. Other people use it to pre-transcode their media onto NAS devices so they can use PMS on their NAS with direct play without transcoding. Probably other stuff I forgot but yep !

Not really sure, you could comment out some of the code in the plexdl.py to figure out what the actual error is. Might just update the git with better error reporting. Most likely it's just because the file isn't available or you are using a shared myplex.

You need to change your tvtype in the ini. You currently have it to sync the most recent seasons of all your shows. I think you need to change it to "all" if you want it to sync everything.

No. You can only download from servers that your account controls.
ilyaz, I love this! I was looking to do the same thing for a friend and thought I was going to be down in the weeds with rsync scripts but this seems to work great!
I was wondering if maybe it could be expanded for a little more mangement or at least per-show sync settings. For example, I was to sync some shows only to have the last X episodes, other I want to sync all of them then delete them manually at some later date (to free up space). Do you have any plans to allow for per-show sync settings and/or the ability to delete shows from within the web interface? I'm planning on just handling those cases with some separate scripts for now so no rush just wanted to know your thoughts.

Maybe eventually, haven't even had time to get the current fix list up yet, however I know this is requested by a lot of people so I'll add it to the long list of stuff to do when I get around to it :).

Good job getting it working, there's a lot of options so just go through them carefully to find the ones you need.
Yes, if you have fullsync enabled it will sync new movies on the timer you have specified. (default is about 10 minutes)
Just a quick one, while downloading movies where the title or file-name contains characters such as ":" (Die Hard: With A Vengance) or"³" (Aliens³) the download fails.Is this a limitation which can be overcome or will I need to remove all offending characters from my plex library?

There are known issues with special characters that no one has fixed yet, however I'm not sure your issue relates. What do you mean by it fails? Are you talking about when you click in the WebUI or while using fullsync? Need more specifics, however you can try ECS470's branch in which he attempted to fix some issues regarding special characters, however this lead to many issues for others so I had to revert it until we are able to figure it out.

When I delete a Movie or TV series, it does not delete the files of of the computer. A quick scan through the code makes it look like it should delete the files from the PC when you delete the sync. I currently have an older version of Python 2.7 installed. Not sure if this is a version issue or not. I wanted to ask before I upgraded my version.

It should work fine with python 2.7. I haven't tried it on 3 so I'm not sure of the compatibility there. The code is written to not delete the files as that's how I originally wanted it. However in the next revision (when I get around to it) I will be adding this as a feature you can enable in the ini.
On a side note, I hope to get a few fixes up this weekend. No promises though!

Will this tool only work for the PMS admin? If I share my library with a friend, can they use this tool to sync my content to their machine? They have terrible bandwidth and believe this will work better than the native Plex download. Is this the case?

What i'm wondering is, is this truely re-encoded or is it just a repackage on the fly?
I'm hoping the plex downloader copies will become a much more compatible version, however I was maybe expecting a full re-encode.
The test clients i've used to view the transcoded copy seem reasonably happy to direct play,although the android plex app seems to get confused and claims transcode on video while playing but the server thinks direct play.
I suppose my question is, what should I be expecting from the plex downloader copies? Should they be consistent formats etc?
Thanks again, going to test out the movie sync with the characters which had been causing me big problems in earlier versions.

I was wondering because i was reading your work to try to make some improvement and i'am reading also the plex api documentation but for now i don't see how do you begin (with or without the api documentation).
