I do not have issues in Plex Amp for music.
I do watch my music videos on random on my TV and that annoying thing pops up. I agree, it needs to be able to be turned off.

Any update, PLEX?
I regret ever supporting Plex and buying a lifetime pass. 5 years of refusing to fix an issue or simply explaining why is unacceptable.
Iāve just tried the Playlist workaround as suggested by others.
My issue is this - I know how to use this workaround, but itās a messy thing to explain to others (namely, my husband, who wants things to ājust workā).
Use case: As a user I want to have Seinfeld running in the background as I do stuff around the house, prepare dinner, etc. The natural choice is TV Shows > Seinfeld > Shuffle. Because this works (for two hours), itās hard to imagine needing any other option.
How do I explain (and ensure itās remembered) that in actual fact he should go to Playlists > Video > Seinfeld > Shuffle? They both work, except one only works for two hours.
The first time I tried this myself, I missed the āVideoā tab at the top - Iām the techy in the family, and I still missed it
I wonāt miss it a second time, but Iām very confident he will - and then be frustrated that I didnāt create a Seinfeld playlist like I promised.
An option hidden in the depths of a config file would make the majority of people (including myself) very happy.
This is exactly why Iām not only no longer recommending Plex, I am actively discouraging people from even trying it. Itās a simple fix and could be hidden away so that it would stay unchanged for the majority of users who may not know or care.
I seem to visit this request every so often to see if any progress has been made. Sadly, as far as I can tell, there hasnāt been any.
Iām not programmer so I donāt know if this is an āeasy fixā, but with how much Plex has accomplished, certainly you would think theyād be able to do this.
Come on Plex. Please help us out with this. It seems like you guys are trying to bury this and just hope that weāll stop talking about it, and if thatās not the case then prove it!
Any update with this? Even a hint would be nice. Just let us know where Plex stands with this so we can have some closure and move on if we need to, but this thread is still getting views. Still getting replies. Still gaining interest. So it would be great if we could get some response as to where weāre at with this.
I would also like to see some sort of remedy to this problem. Plex is failing with what seems like a very basic request that has been open for over 4 years and itās very frustrating to me. If I wish to play media that lives on my own server continuously through the night, why is Plex preventing me from doing this? And the 15 second delay between episodes is a bit ridiculous as well, considering other streaming services (looking at netflix) doesnāt even do this, but I could deal with that if it didnāt completely stop after an unknown amount of episodes.
The lack of update on this unexpected and unwarranted behavior is unacceptable. We own the media for playback purposes, why isnāt this resolved??
The player on android now stops after every episode of every Show.
Also, my shield seems to not play 4K-HDR/H265 (connected to a 1080p-TV) anymore since some updates ago, i have to manually select the 1080p-version.
No errors in the logs, no error on the TV, just a endless spinning wheel. This is getting ridiculous.
I also sent an Email some months ago about the problems described in this topic, never got an answer.
Iāve had enough and Iām in the process of switching over to Jellyfin.
To all plex-emloyees: better search for another job as this shithole of a company will soon be absorbed by some ā ā ā ā ā ā AAA-company.
Linus brings this issue up about once a year. It has to cost Plex thousands of sales a year. Seems like a stupid thing to ignore. If youāre not going to fix this, or you donāt think auto playback is āgoodā for the ecology or something, just get rid of it and say so. After years of putting up with this, Iām at the end of putting up with it. Time to start testing alternatives. I no longer suggest Plex to people that see my server. I tell them the company is completely unresponsive to bugs and customers.
I just submitted yet another support ticket with Plex asking for a refund of my lifetime membership. This is ridiculous that Iāve been waiting YEARS for Plex to fix this issue. OOOOh Arcade and more streaming options!! NO ONE CARES. The community has been wanting this for YEARS and you ignore us? I want my money back. Plex doesnāt give a rats butt about us. At least add a toggle or let us run a script to enable it from a server side. Bandwidth is a piss poor excuse. Its my 24TB hard drives, its my gigabit internet connection, and Plex can kick sticks at this point unless they can fix it. ITS THE ONE AND ONLY ISSUE I HAVE!
If enough people ask for a refund, and they refuse, we can join together and start a class action possibly. Even as others have mentioned, let us modify the config file for those who are savvy enough to be responsible for our own code mistakes. I understand where Netflix would be of concern with bandwidth, but cmon, local streaming from my Desktop to my Xbox on Intranet (NOT Internet) should be possible. I can do it with VLC, Kodi, and all the other ones, but Plex is where everyone goes to watch my content. Iām absolutely dumbfounded that this has been an issue for this long and Plex canāt seem to make one change to allow us to enable constant playback. THIS is why more things should be Open Source.
I agree. You need to fix Plex so that, when I am playing a show and it is set for continuous playback, it doesnāt stop after a few episodes. These are shows that are on my PC so you shouldnāt be able to limit playback. I get it if Iām streaming online content but not over my local network. This is absurd.
Plex can you please bring back auto play?
I would also like it if i didnāt have to keep restarting every couple hours. Especially for local files.
Would really like this feature to be implemented. Sick of it ending after a few episodes. I use this as background noise and interrupts work flow I also use this on a night which can interrupt sleep. Would love continuous play (or at least the option!)
I guess maybe we should just start filing bug tickets for this until it is fixed. Time being added for local content, playback randomly stopping. Sounds like bugs to me
Iāve accepted defeat. Youāve won PLEX. I will create crap playlists just so the media will play until I stop it.
Youāve also shown the world that your promises are crap. Even when the promise come from a founding PLEX person to fix it.
Shouldnāt have to create Playlists for this functionality. For something that was originally suggested in 2018, 5 years later still no real implementation. @elan teased us with a possible solution, but still nothing. I hate that something as simple to implement hasnāt been, and it seems Plex just doesnāt care what users want.
You have the right timing and also @elan did pop in and said to leave with him to fix.
What you donāt have right is they REMOVED this functionality. What @elan was fixing was just giving us back what we lost.
What I find amusing was a few months after @elan popped in and said heād fix it, a few people asked for an update. A PLEX employee scolded us for, being impatient!!
So, it has been many YEARS since @elan said he would fix it, can we get an update?
