Forcing metadata download for a single folder

That’s useful information. It still does not work for me, unfortunately, in that the PMS still refuses to acknowledge the id3 tag information in the track file. Plus, even when I make the appropriate changes by hand at the PMS web interface, the PMS still is unable to download any artwork - which is somewhat irritating now for, as you proved, the artwork exists. Could you possibly share the Drowning By Numbers track that you tinkered with, and for which the artwork was downloaded correctly, so I can compare against what I have? This is what the data for a different track (Endgame, number 13) looks like at the PMS web interface:

In Tags I have nothing, and in Info I have the full pathname of the track file.

Files PM’ed.

I don’t think the problem is that it’s refusing to acknowledge your embedded tags – I think it’s just not understanding them, so it’s not finding the right match. It had to at least attempt a match in order to decide it had something to do with Bach cantatas, and it wouldn’t attempt a match without some info from the files, even if it misinterpreted that info.

Have you tried unmatching the album after Plex misidentifies it? That should make it show you what it got from the files.

My last thought is, it looks like your tagging tool, id3tool, hasn’t been updated since 2005. I would highly recommend finding something a little more current.

Just to give you an update, the folks at Plex are unable to reproduce the issue you’re seeing, using the files you provided. I’m afraid I’ve got no more advice to give. Hopefully someone else will have an idea. Sorry I couldn’t help more.
