I’m at a total loss as to why I can get this stream from the Pi to a BT Speaker when I run from Terminal, but cannot get it to work by loading at boot with a system Service. I’ve tried using /etc/init.d, crontab @boot, in the Sytem Service I’ve tried ExecStartPre=/bin/sleep 30 (which does delay the start of plexamp for 30 seconds).
My work-around is to use ssh into the Pi, and using tmux run /usr/bin/node /home/pi/plexamp/js/index.js, and then I can exit the shell and have plexamp continue to run in tmux.
I wish I had a better solution.
Any suggestions will be appreciated (and this is streaming to a BT Speaker)
@Frnot Did you claim the raspberry Pi before you went to the ip at port 32500? I couldn’t access either until I claimed the pi first. This was a dumb thing that I didn’t realize I had to do. Literally type in the claim address plex.tv/claim wait for the browser to do its thing, and then copy the token it gives you. Put the token in the terminal and hit enter. Wait for it to do its thing, then go back to the browser and try the IP address:32500. Thats what did it for me.
ok I can confirm audio out of hdmi is working. But this is weird I had the pi playing music out of the HDMI to the monitor for like 3 tracks. Then I decided to set up the daemon so it would start up on its own I restarted it and now I can’t get audio out of hdmi anymore? Is there any reason why this would be?
Edit: The audio device got switched to something else after I set up the daemon. Not sure if this will happen every time it restarts or not but I now know where to look. Its working again.
Given the insane amount of activity overnight, is it fair if we close this thread as solved and have people open new threads for specific issues? It’s a bit of a support nightmare otherwise.
OK, closing this thread out as it’s getting a bit convoluted and the answer of the “future of Plexamp on Raspberry Pi” has been answered at this point (about 1 year after it was opened, sorry it took so long)!
Please open new threads for specific issues, and a huge thank you to all the people who have been kind and helpful to others
