Simple solution, a separate Library for 4K resolution and don’t share that 4k Library.
That’s not a solution at all, because I have some users that actually can direct play the 4k files. Its only some that don’t know how to switch from 4k to 1080p. On top of that…they can’t seem to understand why the colors look washed out, even when I explain to them that they’re trying to view 4k HDR on a non 4k HDR tv.
Well you can allow them in “Users and sharing” or disallow. It not a good idea to stream HDR.
But each to there own, I suggested a work around but you know best
Yes you suggested a work around, and I said that wouldn’t work for my situation. Thanks anyway though.
I’ve suggested an option to Plex that could solve your transcoding issues. Can you please vote for it to have it implemented? This way your issue gets fixed too!
