Intel OCLoc: Not Installed

Thank you so much for your help.

Any ideas about the console spam of unknown meta data on a fresh install?

No, sorry.

Its gathering the covers just fine for full speed , but the console gets spammed. Dont recall I’ve seen that before.

I do have some influence there

I’ll reach out and touch some folks :smiling_imp:

I’m chatting with the team now.

Independent of the libraries being 11 months old in the Docker container - Are there any functional issues ?

This test package should resolve the reference to the now-obsolete intel-ocloc.

No checks will be made if installed nor errors generated if not.

Please advise.

None that I know of.

If there were a known bug fixed between that initial version and now, updating the container would be easier to justify but … I still have some powers of persuasion. :wink:

Feedback on the developer’s package above ?

Hey,

So I ran into this issue as well.

I downloaded the package above from you and when I attempted to install it I go the following.

N: Download is performed unsandboxed as root as file '/root/plexmediaserver_1.24.5.5173-8dcc73a59_amd64.deb' couldn't be accessed by user '_apt'. - pkgAcquire::Run (13: Permission denied)

I deleted everything and attempted a second run and received a different error.

Not sure if its helpful or not.

I’m at work, I’ll check in a bit to see if it is running.

[LOL]

I couldn’t help it and looked. It does appear to be running.

Also it seems that the transcoder should be fixed for 11gen - but there is no info regarding requirements of the linux kernel? :slight_smile:

Well updated mine - Seems to run smooth :slight_smile:

Even transcoding a 4K movie ( HDR ) to a LG OLED . HDR is enabled and registered by the TV :slight_smile:
HDR Tonemapping is set to OFF and its working PERFECTLY :slight_smile: ( SO FAR :slight_smile: )

@Morphy

  1. I’m waiting for Engineering to include my previous update

  2. In light of the transcoder updates, I now need to recheck everything. (This is the first I’m seeing the final release as well)

@ChuckPa

Thanks for the info :slight_smile:

Im really pleased. Seems to work great so far.

I tried to do a transcode locally with a 4K HDR movie. I set the tv quality to 10mbps . Normally when transcoding 4K HDR content, HDR on the tv wont be enabled , but its working perfectly . The movie will typically transcode for me if I forget to change sound from 7.1 to 5.1 . I can instantly see that the tv wont run with HDR . Now its just running without any problems :slight_smile:

I can also via the Intel tools gpu see that its actually using the GPU and not the CPU .

Awsome job - Huge Thanks to the Plex team. No more NUC vaccuming :wink:

I just got a new TV so no more transcoding – PERIOD :sunglasses:

Hehe great . :slight_smile:

still seems to be an issue in 1.25.0.5282-2edd3c44d

@Morphy

I put in the change to remove ocloc from the requirements – per this transcoder update.

It is in there . I verified myself.
