EAC3 passthrough doesn’t work either, with Infuse it does… I already have a Plex server and Jellyfin running at the same time. I just hope to get a little more used to Jellyfin so I can completely eliminate Plex from my life.
Unfortunately, I’ve also been experiencing this stuttering since the last update on macOS 26. I’m running Plex on a dedicated server in the OVH data center with sufficient resources: 64 GB RAM, AMD EPIC CPU with enough cores.
Unfortunately, the app often stutters on Mac. I’m using a MacBook Pro M1 Max with 64 GB RAM, 10-core CPU, and 32-core GPU.
I hope you release an update soon that solves the problem. It’s really no fun at the moment. I’m thinking about switching to Jelifin.
I have everything connected via 1GBE and use fiber optics.
I had similar problems with the same spec macbook pro. I found it helped by turning off hardware acceleration. It seemed to stop my periodical stuttering. Maybe worth a shot unless you have already tried doing that.
Disabling HW decode on the client works for me too, but causes massive CPU usage. Interestingly going to the plex website to watch works fine. The quality of the native client seems to be really degrading. >_<
Any update from the Plex team on this? Is it caused by the MPV issue that was pointed out back in June?
Hi, any update about this issue ?
The problem does not seems to occur when using Plex HTPC, neither the Windows one. Only the Mac OS player seems to be affected.
Unfortunately, the last update to 1.112.0 did not resolve this issue…
The latest update also didn’t fix this for me.
. I’ve basically had to stop using the native client because this bug causes the audio/video tracks to drift increasingly far apart and it’s very perceptible within a few seconds.
