@cdispoto said: @spikemixture I was thinking the same thing re the pricing for G Suite. I explored all the cloud options when I started but they were all too expensive to consider paying for in perpetuity.
Is there an OS you recommend for simply running the server
I use Windows, but if you don’t have a license handy and don’t want to buy a copy then get a Linux distro (free!)
Whatever it says on the sign-up page even a single user gets unlimited storage for $10/month on G Suite for Business. Those of us using Plex Cloud with G Suite for Business can all vouch for this. I was already G Suite for Business & had à Plex Pass so using Plex Cloud is a no brainier as it costs me literally nothing.

This is another page when looking at pricing - Unlimited storage
With G Suite Business, each user in your organization can store unlimited Gmail messages, Google Photos, and files in Drive. Or if there are 4 or fewer users in your organization, each user gets 1 TB of storage.
Ok so the biggest internet company on earth has their storage packages information wrong.
It a pretty big mistake don’t you think - or they just don’t wanna tell everybody ??
Can we assume you have more than 1TB on/in your drive and you are they only user?

I don’t know what reason Google have for stating this but if you look in the Plex Cloud forum you will find plenty of other users who confirm that they have single user accounts with unlimited storage. I currently only have a couple of TB as I have only just started uploading my collection to Google Drive but I have read of other users with many tens of TB.
I signed up for the 14 day trial. But I am having all sorts of issues uploading.
Slow uploading, Failed uploads, Gdrive goes off line, site hangs.
At this rate I doubt if I will have a quarter of my media “upthere” in the 2 weeks trial period !

What are you using to upload? Most of us use rclone which is much faster than the Google app & gives far more control & information about progress.
Guys what am I missing with setting up GSuite.
I signed up and created a domain during the sign up process.
It’s now telling me I have to verify the account to do well, pretty much anything really.
I’m obviously missing something, I cannot access Gmail until I verify my email address, but I cant verify my email address if I cant access Gmail.
Never mind… just noticed the “It can take up to 4 hours”
All good now.

Ok will look at rclone .
Currently I am dragging the particular media folder (or parts of) into the web page.
Was also thinking of using the GDrive as a folder in explorer (like the personal gdrive) and see how the syncing works …
@nigelpb post actually encourage me to finally set up Plex Cloud.
Fortunately rclone allows copying from Amazon Cloud Drive to Google. Will take a while cos I have plenty of data on Amazon. Regardless of your set up I highly recommend rclone.
Anyway I started with Movies rather than shows and I can honestly say that loading times in Plex For Kodi matches loading times on my local server that’s sat right next to the TV.
I think @nigelpb described it as game changing and my initial thoughts are that I totally agree.
