I actually have Plexamp in a Pi4 driving my LS50W2

@elan Is it possible to eliminate plexamp debug logging in the Pi?

not that i know of, can’t you just redirect to /dev/null or something?
Jealous.
So I bought this new toy, a raspberry PI 400 which is basically a new form factor pi 4 built into a keyboard.
It’s actually really nice so far I’ve got a desktop environment running on Ubuntu Mate distribution and it is fairly responsive when used with a fast USB SSD to host the OS and small external DAC for sound.
The only thing missing is any Plexamp for aarch64. The existing v2.0 plexamp fails with architecture error.
I guess this is low on the list but would be cool.
thx
Thanks, it helps!

Still no plans for a Plexamp v3 for Raspberry Pi?
If not, why?
plans, yes. but no timeframe.
I have a theory*
I think to offer a plex music client for any arm based linux would be awesome for any ‘claimed audiophile’, Just look at the costs of roon. Simply offer a headless client only to paying customer and their will jump on it with their huge, curated libraries like noone else.
But,
There is a TIDAL contract… hmm… so we have to wait until it expires I guess.
Did this work for you?
I see that the log entries no longer turn up in syslog, but the ~/.cache/Plexamp/log/Server.log still grows rapidly (with debug level entries).
let’s please stop jumping to unfounded conclusions. thank you.
Would love to see a v3.x release for the RPI in the near future.
Think there is a substantial market for the use case of an audiophile. See the popularity of services like Volumio, Mood, Roon etc.
Currently running Plexamp v2.0 beta 2 on my RPI (Hifiberry OS) with a HifiBerry DAC hat.
Seems working fine for now (just a couple of days in use).
Elan, HUGE thanks to you and your team for making this possible!
Kind regards, Murat, The Netherlands.
Yep, I’d dearly love to move to a newer version of PlexAmp for the Pi.
Tom
Elan, is the desktop (windows/mac/linux) version of Plexamp also a NodeJS application?
If so, does it have a clean seperation of client/server parts?
Didn’t do any other change. I get no such log files, though.
@elan I don’t know if there is a roadmap for PlexAmp that is published, but if so and it doesn’t already include PlexAmp for the Pi, could it be added and published more prominently save people keep asking the same questions in the forums and of you?
I have V2 B2 working now, and with some hacking got source issues resolved, but I’d love to see a new version released that was official and complete.
Tom
We hope there is a headless v3.0 in the future, but we don’t have any more information beyond that at this point, unfortunately.
The current (old) Pi version is still working fine for me… remote suport would be nice …I’m an artist and often my hands are often too dirty to touch a phone… but that wouldln’t be headless then right??
Also @elan , is there any way I can get artist and track name, album art etc displayed on the pi with plexamp Pi when controlled from plexamp mobile?
Hey @elan
I used your Plexamp for Rpi, but all output is at 44khz Sampling Rate…
Can you make it to get out the sampling rate of the original files ?
Sorry, that version is no longer supported or maintained.
Is Plexamp-v2.0.0-rPi-beta no longer supported?
If so, can you tell me when or if I’ll be able to use my pi as a player again?
