Plexamp Feature Request additional grouping in downloaded library //mod: structure downloads section

Hi I work a lot in remote area’s of Australia where i don’t have phone service so i download my on Plexamp to play in my truck. but what is very annoying is that the music only show by album i love to be able to organize it by artiest lick you can do in the normal library. for e.g. if i feel like listening to ac/dc i want to just select ac/dc and it will play all there albums that i have downloaded. where for now if i want to do that i would have to make a playlist. its also like when i go to download i have to download each album where it would be good just to go to the artist and download the whole lot. other wise i love this app.

I feel your pain. Believe it or not, the organization of that area has actually gotten worse, imo.

Prior to 4.11.0, the artist names were large and the album names were small and you could clearly and easily find the artist that you’re looking for. Granted, you couldn’t do what you’re asking for but I found that version to be infinitely more navigable to, at least, get back to the artist that you’re trying to play.

I made a post 2 years ago and Elan, himself, hopped on to tell me that, in a nutshell, they made the change to match other parts of Plexamp (even though I still strongly believe that it was the incorrect choice in the downloads area).

I’m still holding out hope that they will eventually improve the downloads area for people like you and me but, honestly, I just don’t think that they have much dev bandwidth for the offline folks with the vast majority of their audience being online 24/7 with unlimited data (apparently).

Did either of you actually click the “Vote” button to express your support?

I did but then retracted my limited number of votes to apply it to a previous thread that addressed the same issue and already had a significant number of votes voicing support.

Seemed more logical to consolidate the effort.

fwiw, you can already do this, either from the artist library view (long press/right click artist to bring up menu) or from the artist’s page (… menu)

More grouping/sorting options would be nice, but really I’d prefer an ‘offline mode’.
